Das Buch ist ein Familienprojekt, dessen Umsetzung kein einfaches, aber lustiges Abenteuer war. Die Geschichte über die Igelfamilie wurde von der Kreativität der Tochter inspiriert, die schon in jungen Jahren zeichnete, und der Igel, die ihr Leben lang in verschiedenen Formen getroffen wurden. Die Geschichte wird anhand von Zeichnungen illustriert, die von einem dreizehnjährigen Mädchen erstellt wurden.
